FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Is my bloodwork analysis covered by medical insurance?
Yes. The bloodwork analysis is usually covered by most medical insurance plans. You will need to get it done at a local lab.
Is hormone balancing (hormone optimization) covered by medical insurance?
Generally not. For example medical insurance companies do not cover hormone balancing with natural (bioidentical) hormones which are the core of most hormone balancing programs. They only cover hormone therapy with synthetic hormones. Synthetic hormones are NOT the same thing and they carry unwanted side effects which we are seeking to avoid.
Can I use my HSA (Health Savings Account) or my FSA (Flexible Spending Account) for hormone balancing?
Some HSA plans will reimburse for this. You will need to self-submit. Some FSA plans will cover depending upon the employer's election of where they can use FSA.
How long can I stay on my hormone balancing program?
Hormone balancing is designed to be a long-term solution to the control of symptoms. It does not need to be discontinued after any specific period of time.
What hormones are used in the hormone balancing program?
Specific hormone balancing varies from person to person, so not everyone will require the same hormones. The most commonly used hormones are the natural forms of testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, and thyroid.
What else is used in the hormone balancing program?
Hormones are affected by many things, so balancing may sometimes require probiotics, vitamins, and weight loss medications such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic), and tirzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro). If weight loss is your main goal, click here for more information.
