Peer-reviewed publications are scientific articles that go through a rigorous vetting process by other qualified scientific experts with similar or related training, education and experience. Generally, these types of articles are the most difficult to get published because competition for limited journal space is fierce and the material needs to meet very stringent scientific standards.
Non peer-reviewed publications are also scientific articles, but are written with a different focus.
